Oleksandr G. Dombrovskyy lives in Vinnytsia - the administrative center of Vinnytsia oblast. It is the south-western region of Ukraine, known as Podillia. His current center - Vinnytsia lies in 250 km. southern from Kyiv.

On the post of the head of Vinnytsia regional state administration, i.e., the executive branch in the region, during 2005-2009-th years, Oleksandr Dombrovskyy contributed to the introduction in the economy of the region liberal principles of governing and in the socio-political life - democratic norms of the European type.

He was born on July 7, 1962 in Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region.

Graduated with honours from the Faculty of Automation and Telemechanics of Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute. Today, it is Vinnytsia National Technical University.

After graduation he worked at Komsomol work, was elected on the post of the first secretary of the Vinnytsia city committee of the Komsomol.

In 1990 he graduated from postgraduate school and worked as a scientific worker of the research department of the Vinnitsa Polytechnic Institute.

Since 1995 - President of JSC "Podilskyy Center for Business Cooperation". In the following years - director of "Branch № 2" of production association "Southern Machine-Building Plant. A. Makarov".

In 1998 he was elected to the Vinnytsia city council, led a permanent commission on industry, building, transport and communication issues.

From April 2002 - Mayor of city Vinnytsia.

From 2005 to 2010 served as chairman of Vinnitsa Regional State Administration. (This position is similar to the governor, which exists in some countries).

Ph.D. in economics, author of several scientific works about international economics and management systems.

In 2004 he was the winner of national rankings in the categories "Man of the Year" and "Mayor of the Year".

Married. Together with his wife Irina brought up son Andrey and daughter Tatiana.

By the Decree of the President of Ukraine O.Dombrovskyy was given the honorary title "Honored Economist of Ukraine".
